What is the Problem?
The problem Bronzeville is facing is that it struggles to honor it's' cultural legacy and significance. Bronzeville was a place where many wealthy and successful African Americans lived. The neighborhood was once known as the "Black Metropolis." But after World War II blacks were able to live other places besides Bronzeville because of the elimination of restricted housing covenants. They moved south in Chicago which caused businesses to close because there was no income because the majority of the black population was no longer residing there. This is a problem because blacks no longer have an economic powerhouse in Chicago.
